iPhone Photography / Instant Gratification With Instagram

My New iPhone 4

For those of you who follow me on Twitter or on Facebook you probably already know that I finally gave in and got an iPhone 4.  I’ve been a loyal Nokia user since cell phones had LED lights and you had to push *4 on the keypad to see how much battery power you had left.  Yes, I had one of those about 15 years ago.

The one major factor that appealed to me was how the iPhone seemed to “have an app for everything”.  Instagram is one of those apps that will one day make someone say, “what did they do before this?”

I’m sure my offspring someday will say, “wait, so to share your pictures you first had to go home, take a chip out of your camera, plug it into a computer, edit and then upload to the internet?”  Seems pretty silly doesn’t it?  Well there are some instances where this is necessary.  But for everyday snapshot photography that you just want to share quickly to some friends this just doesn’t cut it.

Enter the World of Instagram

Instagram allows you to share the picture you’ve just taken instantly.  Before you share it to the world you can add some interesting and fun filters.  Here’s a few that I’ve taken over the past few days:

I used a program called Diptic to make this collage of Tracy at the studio.

I had some fun while shopping at Ikea the other day.

Can anyone guess where I took this? :)

Sunset Sails.  The sunsets I get in my area are just amazing.  We have a pond and park nearby that is a great spot for it.

I took this during a warm winter (yes we do get warm chinook winds that melt just about all the snow during winter).  Parking lot at a Home Depot, the light was reflecting off melted snow on the street.
