Bermuda in Black & White / A Mini Project

Which camera should I bring for my holiday?

I’ve been in Bermuda for almost a week shooting a wedding this weekend, we decided to arrive a few days early and take in some much needed R&R.  Since being on vacation Aiofe and I have gone to many places throughout the beautiful islands of Bermuda.  The whole week I’ve just been taking along my Fuji X10 I got late last year.  It’s the perfect travel camera because it’s light, has a great lens and can deliver larger resolution images when need be.

What I’m photographing in Bermuda

Basically everything that catches my eye is captured with my Fuji X10.  One thing I noticed about Bermuda was the wonderful and colourful architecture.  Against the blue sky the architecture screams, “take my picture!”Mini Project: Black & White Bermuda

I decided that a mini project needed to happen while I was here.  The project had to be unique and so I decided that I needed to see Bermuda in black & white.  Almost all the photographs you’ll see of Bermuda are in rich, full colour.  I wanted to capture Bermuda, stripped of colour but found out soon that it revealed another beauty.

Bermuda’s Beauty

I few days in Bermuda and I realize the beauty is in its people and how people of all colours live together in this beautiful land.  From the walls on buildings to people’s skin, colours are diverse here and colour really doesn’t matter.    To celebrate this I decided this series needed to be in black and white.   Here are a few more from the project:
