Instant Art Exhibit / Exposure Photography Festival

Happy Exposure month!  For those of you who aren’t familiar with Exposure, it’s a photography festival held in Calgary, Canmore and Banff.  It runs through the month of February and there are many events, exhibits and openings to check out.  This year I’m showing at the Resolution Art Gallery (located in Kensington).  My show, a solo exhibit, is entitled: Instant Art.  The opening reception is: Friday, February 17th @ 5pm-9pm.

I explore the use of my mobile phone to tread the line between snapshots and photographic art.

Historically, photography has been a lengthy process where photos needed to be captured, processed, and shared at different stages.  We are at a unique time in photography as we can now capture, process, and share all at once.  What is noise and what is art?  You decide.

The collection of square photographs reflect everyday stories and moments, brought to life by vision and the use of iPhone applications.

The installation is comprised of over 100 unique images displayed in small 4”x4” square format emulating the Polaroid instant films of days gone by.

All work is priced and the first 30 guests to arrive at the opening reception will recieve a signed limited edition print from the Instant Art collection.

My first coffee table book entitled: Instant 100 will also be on display and we’ll be taking pre-orders!  I hope to see you there!
