Stampede Western Photo Gallery / Horseshoe Bend on Display

The 100th anniversary Calgary Stampede has come and gone.  During the 10 days my photo, “Horseshoe Bend” was on display at the Western Oasis along with some other spectacular photos by some great artists.

The line-up for the opening night of the art show.

Friends and family that came out to support me (L-R: Krystal, Vince, Aiofe, me, John, Karina)

Horseshoe Bend on Canvas 30″x72″.  Artist Proof Edition 2 of 10.

Here is the photo, it’s a combination of 18 different exposures with 6 different angles to create a large panoramic of Horseshoe Bend.  Horseshoe Bend is just outside of Page, Arizona.  The white dots on the river that you can barely make out on this small resolution photo are boats!

Also that night was the unveiling of the original painting for the 2013 Calgary Stampede poster.  It was a fun night and a fun 10 days.  The Stampede this year broke attendance records.  Over 1.4 million people attended the Calgary stampede for 2012.  If even a tiny fraction of those people saw my work that would be a lot of people :)  If you’re interested in purchasing Horseshoe Bend visit JCFA.

Thanks to all the volunteers at the Western Photo Gallery.  All your hard work showed as the gallery was set up beautifully as always!  I hope to be a part of it next year!
