Go Big or Go Home / Glacier National Park

I’ve visited Glacier National Park a few times.  Each time I go I come back breathless.  This past weekend on the way to Missoula we drove the Going to the Sun highway from the St. Mary’s entrance.  I’ll be in Missoula for a week long photography workshop.

If you ever needed an excuse to have a wide angle lens then look no further.  Go visit Glacier National Park and you’ll see why a wide angle lens is a must.  These images were taken with my Nikon D800 and my Fuji X10 (Pano mode).  Can you tell the difference?

Sunrise near the Rising Sun lookout. I wonder why they call it that? :)

Aiofe and Natalie laughing it up at Logan’s Pass. We hiked cross country a bit to find a waterfall I wanted to shoot.

We found the waterfall thanks to tips from Rodney Lough Jr. Check out his site: http://standhere.net

Mt. Reynolds 9235ft (2781m) on the left and Mt. Clements 8760ft (2670m) on the right. I’m convinced the glacier on Mt. Reynolds is shaped like a mustache. Why else would it be called Reynolds?

The breathtaking view along Highline Pass.

Our friend Natalie treated us to a tour of her favourite spot in the park, Many Glacier.  We had drinks on the balcony.  The moon is rising just along the mountain peak.

A spectacular view on the balcony of the Many Glacier Hotel.

I’m now in Missoula for a week and I’ve already started thinking about our return trip to Calgary through Glacier.
